Im Jahr 1433 soll die Quelle am Fuße des Turms Notre-Dame den ausgetrockneten Graben sofort gefüllt und so einen Angriff der Truppen von Robert de Sarrbrück, dem Herrn von Commercy, abgewehrt haben.
Die Einwohner von Linéens kamen, um das Wasser aus dieser Quelle zu trinken, das gutartige Augenkrankheiten (Gerstenkorn) heilen sollte. Die neogotische Kapelle mit der mittelalterlichen Statue wurde 1902 erbaut.
