In 1433 zou de bron die aan de voet van de Notre-Dame toren stroomt, onmiddellijk de droge gracht hebben gevuld en zo een aanval van de troepen van Robert de Sarrbrück, heer van Commercy, hebben afgeslagen.
De inwoners van Liné kwamen het water van deze bron drinken, dat kleine oogziektes zoals staar genas. De neogotische kapel met het middeleeuwse standbeeld werd in 1902 gebouwd.
