Perthes les Brienne liegt im Herzen der Ebene von Brienne und am Übergang der Römerstraße Troyes-Montier en der und trug nicht immer diesen Namen. In Dokumenten aus dem Jahr 1632 wird das Dorf Perthes en Rothière genannt, und das bis 1919. Im Mittelalter gehörte die Herrschaft über Perthes der Abtei von Boulancourt, die sich in der Gemeinde Longeville sur la Laines im Département Haute-Marne befand. Heute ist Perthes für die Produktion von Sauerkraut bekannt. Ein Überbleibsel aus der Vergangenheit ist die Fachwerkkirche Saint Denis aus dem 16. Jahrhundert. Jahrhundert.
