Wenn es einen Ort im Departement Deux-Sèvres gibt, in dem Tannenbäume unter wirklich optimalen Bedingungen wachsen – dann ist es wohl Absie. In einer 2.5 ha großen Parkanlage präsentiert dieser Garten etwa 70 verschiedene Absie-Baumgattungen – von der Kiefer der Vogesen bis zu denen aus Korea – ein kleines Naturwunder. Ein besonders günstiges Mikro-Klima fördert den Anbau außergewöhnlicher Baumarten wie z. B. von Nadelhölzern und Pflanzen, die extrem viel Wasser verlangen.
