Von der ehemaligen Abtei Saint-Médard ist nur noch die präromanische Krypta erhalten, das älteste Bauwerk von Soissons, das auf das 9. Jahrhundert datiert wird. Jahrhundert. Sie bestand aus zehn Kapellen, die durch einen zentralen Gang miteinander verbunden waren, und beherbergte das Grab des Bischofs Saint-Médard sowie die Gräber von Clotaire und Sigebert, den Söhnen und Enkeln Chlodwigs. Das ganze Jahr über werden Führungen angeboten, insbesondere am Samstagnachmittag um 14:30 Uhr (im Juli und August täglich). Reservierungen beim Fremdenverkehrsamt von Soissonnais-Valois oder beim CIAP in der Abtei Saint-Jean des Vignes.
