Kranenburg ist ein Dorf in der Gemeinde Bronckhorst an der Straße zwischen Vorden und Ruurlo in der niederländischen Provinz Gelderland. Kranenburg gehört zur Achterhoek und hat über 200 Einwohner.
Bis in die späte Mittelalter war dieser Teil der Achterhoek ein sumpfiges Gebiet. Man suchte die höher gelegenen trockenen Teile auf, um sich niederzulassen. Diese Siedlungen wurden oft nach Tierarten benannt, die auf diesen 'Bergen' vorkamen. Auf einem Hügel etwas südlich von dem heutigen Kranenburg brüteten Kraniche. Aus diesem Grund wurde der Bauernhof, der hier gegründet wurde, auch 'De Kranenbarg' genannt.
