Im Jahr 1915 wird die Genossenschaftliche Molkerei Sint Barbara in Eckelrade gegründet. Landwirte aus der Region können hier ihre Milch bringen, damit diese zu verschiedenen Milchprodukten verarbeitet werden kann. 1951 fusioniert die Eckelraadse Molkerei mit der Reijmerstokser Molkerei Limburgia. Gemeinsam führen sie unter dem Namen Sint Barbara weiter. Zwei Jahre später, 1953, schließt die Molkerei in Eckelrade ihre Pforten und die Fabrik in Reijmerstok geht alleine weiter. Inzwischen beherbergt das markante Gebäude in Eckelrade ein B&B.
