Lange Dr. António de Magalhães ist ein angenehmer, von Büschen gesäumter Platz im Zentrum von Ponte de Lima, in der Nähe der Villa Belmira . Er erinnert an den angesehenen Rechtsberater und Bürgermeister von Ponte de Lima António de Magalhães Fangs d'Araújo Queiroz, Vater des Stadtrats Antonio de Magalhães.

António de Magalhães wurde am 12. Februar 1838 in Ponte de Lima geboren und starb am 19. Dezember 1888 in Ponte de Lima . Er engagierte sich für den Fortschritt von Ponte de Lima und förderte die Eröffnung von Straßen und Schulen. Zu seinen Initiativen gehörte die Gründung des Asylo Dona Maria Pia, einer Einrichtung zur Unterstützung der am stärksten Benachteiligten.
