Largo Dr. António de Magalhães is een aangename ruimte met perken van struiken, gelegen in het centrum van Ponte de Lima, dicht bij Villa Belmira en herinnert aan de opmerkelijke jurisconsult en burgemeester van Ponte de Lima António de Magalhães Barros de Araújo Queiroz, vader van raadslid António de Magalhães.
António de Magalhães werd geboren in Ponte de Lima op 12 februari 1838 en stierf in Ponte de Lima op 19 december 1888. Hij zette zich in voor de vooruitgang van Ponte de Lima en bevorderde de opening van straten, wegen en de bouw van scholen. Tot zijn initiatieven behoorde de oprichting van de "Asylo Dona Maria Pia" (Maria Pia College), een instelling die bedoeld was om de meest achtergestelden te ondersteunen.
