Largo Dr. António de Magalhães è un piacevole spazio delimitato da arbusti, situato nel centro di Ponte de Lima, vicino a Villa Belmira e commemora il noto giureconsulto e sindaco di Ponte de Lima António de Magalhães Barros de Araújo Queiroz, padre del consigliere Antonio de Magalhães.
António de Magalhães nacque a Ponte de Lima il 12 febbraio 1838 e morì a Ponte de Lima il 19 dicembre 1888. Fu impegnato nel progresso di Ponte de Lima e promosse l'apertura di strade, vie e la costruzione di scuole. Tra le sue iniziative vi fu la fondazione dell'"Asylo Dona Maria Pia" (Collegio Maria Pia), un'istituzione destinata al sostegno dei più svantaggiati.
