Regional Court Klagenfurt

The Regional Court of Klagenfurt is a court in Klagenfurt. Its jurisdiction corresponds with the area of the state of Carinthia. As a regional court, it is responsible in the second instance for handling appeals against decisions of the eleven Carinthian district courts. In principle, it is competent for civil matters with a dispute value of over €15,000 in the first instance. However, certain legal matters fall under the jurisdiction of the district courts in the first instance regardless of the dispute value. It is competent in the first instance for criminal cases when the penalty exceeds one year. Certain criminal cases also fall under its jurisdiction even with a lower penalty.
