The castle of the Counts of Mouscron is a fortress dating back to the fifteenth century located in the heart of Mouscron, a city in the province of Hainaut, Wallonia, Belgium. The castle was classified as an important site for Wallonia's cultural heritage first in 1945 and then in 1973.
The only example of monumental architecture prior to the nineteenth century near the Belgian city of Mouscron, and which also gave accommodation to the Roman emperor Charles V, the castle was seriously damaged following the religious raids perpetrated in three months of occupation by Lutherans and the wars of conquest of the French monarch Louis XIV in the seventeenth century.
