About 5,000 years ago, in the Late Neolithic, people from a group of the Seine-Oise-Marne culture (SOM) founded the dolmens here. The bone remains found in the dolmen of Oppagne indicate an inhumation of at least a dozen individuals of different ages. The grave goods found were stone objects such as scrapers, knockstones and stem spires (arrowheads). Shards from bell beaker pottery indicate a later reuse of the monument between 2200-2000 BC by a group of the bell beaker culture (KB). This dolmen stands in a pit and is accompanied by a row of menhirs.
