The Castle of Spiere is a castle in the village of Spiere in the municipality of Spiere-Helkijn, located at the address Jaquetbosstraat 50-52. The current castle was erected in the middle of the 18th century and was the seat of the barony of Spiere. On the domain was the seat of the lords of Spiere, in the form of a motte whose history would date back to the 12th century. It was later converted into a fortified castle, but in 1477 it was destroyed by the French in their war against Mary of Burgundy. Remains of the motte, called la Cave aux Diables, are still present, in particular the cellar in Tournai limestone.
