Brewery 3 fonteinen is located in the heart of picturesque Beersel. It was founded in 1887 by the Vanderlinden family in a newly built café gueuzestekerij. Both the brewery and the adjacent restaurant have been operated by the Debelder family since 1953. The writer-poet Herman Teirlinck was a friend of the house and installed his artistic and literary club 'De Mijol'. Armand Debelder, the current owner of the brewery and the second generation, is known far beyond our national borders as a gueuze ambassador. In 1998, in collaboration with Willem Van Herreweghen, a computer-controlled 1000-liter brewery was installed so that Armand can choose from his own lambic and from lambics from Boon, Girardin and Lindemans when cutting lambic. The 'Oude Geuze Drie Fonteinen' remains bottled for at least ten months before it leaves the cellar. After all, a good stock is important for a gueuzesteker. A company visit is definitely worth it. Armand recently obtained the Flemish Regional Label, a recognition by Vlam, for his Oude Geuze and Oude Kriek.
