From the watchtower you have a good view of the water birds.
The Mechels Broek is home to many water birds: Mallard, Krakeend, Slobeend, Mountain Duck, Pintail, Crested Duck, Table Duck, Teal and Wigeon. The latter is an emblem species for the area. Large and small waders can be observed from the watchtower.
Two water snipes in the photo above forage carefully near the water, sheltered by the tall grass.
