In the Stone Mill is still the mill hull with pyramid-shaped substructure. This once imposing structure rested on 16 brick pillars. It was founded in 1771-1772 by miller Pieter Mehauden. In 1871 the mill was converted into a scaffolding mill. It could also be used as a grist mill. By inheritance, the mill was owned by Romanie and Emma Goedertier, millers, in 1910. After damage in 1918, the mill was repaired with the establishment of a mechanical mill. In 1940 the woodwork was destroyed by fire. The pillar gallery was demolished in 1982. It has been a protected monument since 2002, unique in Flanders because of its shape. The former miller's house can be found in the same street at n° 8.
