Oetingen

Oetingen is a village and part of the municipality of Gooik in the Belgian province of Flemish Brabant and the geographical region of Pajottenland. Oetingen was an independent municipality until the municipal reorganization of 1977. The village has maintained its rural character quite well, although in recent years there have been more and more construction projects that threaten this. The current village center, formed by the rectangular square with the church, the town hall, and the vicarage, only emerged in 1860 when "the old place," where traditionally the church, vicarage, local castle, and farm were located, was abandoned for the new center.
