Zevekote is a small polder village in the Belgian province of West Flanders and a part of the municipality of Gistel. The core of the rural village mainly lies along the old road from Gistel to Nieuwpoort.
During the 19th-century peat extraction, many Roman artifacts were found, indicating Roman presence. At that time, salt was being produced in the nearby Leffinge, and about 10 kilometers away was the important Roman fortress of Oudenburg.
