The Houthulst town hall is built in Flemish style and dates back to 1935. The architect is Viérin, the same as that of the church of Houthulst. The very first town hall was once an inn.
Houthulst became an independent municipality in 1928. However, it took until 1936 for the town hall to be inaugurated.
