The Cheese Scattering Mill in the Antwerp municipality of Heist-op-den-Berg is a stake mill with a closed base that is equipped as a flour mill. It is located in Bruggeneinde, on the border between Heist-op-den-Berg and Hulshout. There was already a flour mill on this site in 1418, which was replaced by a new one in 1611. The mill was used until the beginning of the 60s of the twentieth century. Since 1955, the Cheese Scattering Mill has been a protected monument. The name of the mill probably originated in the sixteenth century and is derived from the name used at the time for bunt grass, the crop that grew on the plot. The mill was restored in the 60s and in 1990 and can usually be visited on Sundays. In the mill there are two pairs of stones, which are used to grind grain on a voluntary basis.
