The museum is located in the right part of a late-classical building from 1820, which is situated at Groenplaats 4. The interior and collection originated from the pharmacy of the Humblé family, which also included a medical practice since 1891. The medical and pharmacy practice, both operated by Doctor Gerard Humblé, was located in the house De Roomse Keizer on Herenstraat in Rekem. This was continued until 1970 by his son Frans. In 1985, the collection was transferred by the widow Humblé and in 2009 it was exhibited in the museum.
