The Pont Saint-Nicolas is the most famous bridge in Chiny and was originally built around 1740 to replace the still wooden bridge over the river with a solid stone version with boulders that came from Suxy, Assenois and Straimont, from then on the bridge was already called Pont Saint-Nicolas and it had also incorporated the statue of saints into the bridge. On May 11, 1940, the bridge was destroyed by the French troops and was later rebuilt in 1955-1956. The statue of saints is still on the bridge, but because of standing in all weathers, Saint-Nicolas is no longer easily recognizable.
