A castle full of schoolchildren. The castle of Ijse was the residence of the lords of Overijse. The oldest part dates from the period around 1500. After the lords of Witthem, the Counts of Hornne and the Princes of Salm-Kyrburg found shelter there. Over the centuries, the castle building underwent various changes. In 1768, the long street façade was demolished to extend the road from Jezus-Eik to Wavre. In 1948, the castle was purchased by the Belgian state and converted into a school. It consists of a long one-storey building in Louis XVI style with red brick and white French stone.
