Former water grain mill on the Itter. The mill is no longer located on the Itter but on the Wijshager- or Eetsevelderbeek; the Itterbeek was originally diverted to supply the mill with water, but has since resumed its former course. Originally called the Wayenberch Mill; the name is that of a very old family, Wayenberch, already mentioned in 1139. This mill was the banmill for Bree of the chapter of Saint Bartholomew of Liège, tithe collector of the parish of Bree; the mill was originally located on the territory of Bree. He was probably part of the donation of Ermengardis in 1078. Together with the Genamolen van Beek, it is one of the oldest mills in the region. He is first mentioned in 1296. At the beginning of the 16th century it was given the name Schelenmolen; Jan Schelen is mentioned as a miller in 1502 and 1528. In 1633 it was given the name bij Pollen, after the family name Van Pol. The mill went out of operation in 1961. It was bought by the municipality of Bree in 1981 and restored in 1987. The mill is indicated on the Ferraris map (1771-77) and in the Atlas of the Neighbourhood Roads (1845). The mill then consisted of an elongated wing to the south of the street, which included the miller's house, and the isolated mill house to the southwest of it; All the buildings were half-timbered at the time. In a later period, probably in the fourth quarter of the 19th century, a service building was added on the other side of the road, so that the farm is now twofold. The farm was petrified in the second half of the 19th and early 20th centuries; This probably happened first with the mill house (mid-19th century); The current house was built in 1906; In 1901, miller Pieter-Jan Domen built a new half-timbered barn (north wing), now also petrified.
