The former Laathof belonged successively to the families of Schoonwinkel, van Alcken (16th century), Gregory (17th century), and Jamar de Montfort (1715); they did not inhabit the estate; this seems to have been the case with their heir Gilles-François Du Vivier (+ 1746); it remained in the possession of the Du Vivier family until 1926. In 1790, the village was occupied by Liège patriots, who besieged the farm.
