The Gothic church from the 15th-16th century had its side aisles widened in the 19th century, and in 1910, the tower was raised according to the design of Hyacinth Martens and Victor Lenertz. In 1934, the church was enlarged in an eastern direction from the transept according to the design of K. Gessler (Maaseik) by means of two transept bays, placed perpendicular to the former choir, a new choir, a side choir, and a sacristy.
