Villa Drijgoten with garden and bridge

Villa Drijgoten was initially built in 1903 in cottagestijI, but was partly petrified in the 1940s. The preserved garden design, integrating the natural height difference and the rest of the former Scheldt inlet, is exemplary of an early 20th-century landscape with whimsical pond and picturesque figurine. The concept of the decoratively designed 40-metre-long reinforced concrete bridge as an iconic connecting element between the villa and the lower garden is rare.
