Mettekoven is a small village in the Belgian province of Limburg, and a district of the municipality of Heers. It was an independent municipality until it was merged into the municipality of Heers in 1971.
Mettekoven is an agricultural village in Haspengouw and a street village in the northern part of the municipality of Heers. The Herk River forms the western boundary of the district. Agriculture consists of growing sugar beets and there are still a number of fruit cultivation businesses active. The Roman road Tongeren - Tienen, which is still present, forms the northern boundary of the district.
