At the center of the village stands the St. Martin's Church. This church has been renovated regularly over the past centuries, but the tower is made of Tournai limestone and dates back to the 13th century. It suffered quite a bit during the iconoclasm. This results in 3 types of side walls: an 18th century northern brick wall, which sharply contrasts with the southern fieldstone of the time. After World War I, the western facade and the tower were rebuilt. The Market also got a completely new look under the guidance of architect Valentin Vaerwyck, who also designed the town hall.
