The Sanitary or the building of the former textile company 'Sanitary Underwear Company Société Anonyme' is a building with heritage status in the center of Zottegem in the Belgian province Oost-Vlaanderen.De 'Sanitary Underwear Company' was founded in 1909 by Joseph Schockaert. The company buildings were co-financed by the Schockaert family, the London knitwear wholesaler 'Downing Ltd', the Liège Baar-Lechartier family, the Zottegem brewer De Wilde and the Van Steenberge timber merchant family. Engineer Herbert De Puysseleyr drew up the plans for the factory complex. De Puysseleyr, together with his wife Berthe Schockaert, also had 'Villa Puysseleyr' built according to plans by architect Oscar Van de Voorde on the Meerlaan, near the Sanitary complex.
