Kasteel Sarolea is a castle in Cheratte, located at the corner of Rue de Visé and Rue Césaro in Cheratte-bas.
It was built in 1643 by Gilles de Sarolea and was inhabited by the De Sarolea family in the following centuries. While Gilles, lord of Cheratte, was already engaged in coal mining, large-scale extraction began in 1850, resulting in the Hasard coal mine. After 1905, the castle was also used for this purpose, among other things as the director's residence. After that, it fell into disrepair.
