An agricultural census shows that in 1910 there were more than 10,000 dog mills in our country. Just about every big farm had one. Now there are still about twenty left throughout Belgium, of which there are at least 6 in the Pajottenland, including at the Pedemolen in Dilbeek, in Romont in Bever, in the Lindestraat in Herne, in the Gaubergstraat in Vollezele, this restored and classified example in the Woestijnstraat in the vicinity of the Desert Chapel in Gooik and another example in Gooik, i.e. in the Warandehof.
