A church in hornbeam is the main character in this park. It is a reminder of the former abbey church of the Saint Bavo Abbey, which was destroyed by Emperor Charles in the 16th century.
Next to the church, there is space to play or hold a neighborhood party. The park is slightly sloped. It drains towards a marsh area that collects rainwater and allows it to infiltrate into the soil. A bike and walking path runs through the white gate building of the former slaughterhouse.
