The coal tip known as "Siège 19" is located on the left bank of the Sambre River, just upstream from the city of Charleroi. It currently appears as an imposing wooded hill rising to nearly 200 m in altitude, with the southern slope and summit still featuring open spaces. The site serves as a natural haven in a region heavily influenced by its industrial past. It notably hosts an interesting entomofauna, including several rare species (orthopterans, ladybirds, ...).
