The Namèche Orchard is located south of Charleroi, in the municipality of Gerpinnes, and constitutes the last remnant of an old orchard that covered 55 hectares in the 1940s. Most of the site consists of a forest colonization of the former orchard. There are two semi-open areas occupied by high-stem fruit trees of old varieties. A pond has also been recently dug there. The flora includes several species of interest to the region, including three species of orchids. This environment also presents a beautiful diversity of fauna (birds, entomofauna, ...). Since October 2013, the Namèche Orchard has been granted the status of a state-owned nature reserve.
