Since the year 2000, the non-profit organization Opslot has exhibited an impressive and almost unique collection of historical and contemporary locks in a restored factory building. The collection includes objects from before the Roman period to the present day. The highlight of the collection consists of masterpieces from the Middle Ages and the Renaissance; true examples of art and craftsmanship. The collection also features locks from Asia and Africa, and a separate section is dedicated to the lock industry of West Flanders from the recent 20th century.
