The Zuunbeek forms the natural border between the two regions. It flows through a culvert under the canal, and then flows about a hundred meters into open air on the right side of the canal. The stream then flows into the Senne, underground, under the highway. A few hundred meters upstream, the Zuunbeek is fed by the water of the Vogelzangbeek, which forms the border between the municipalities of Anderlecht and Sint-Pieters-Leeuw over a distance of 3-4 kilometers. In recent years, the ecological and physico-chemical quality of the Zuunbeek has improved considerably thanks to the purification of the wastewater and the restoration of the old stream meanders.
