The Bois de la Louvière is a forest that is part of the forest belt of the hills witnesses of the region. A witness mound is a hill more or less isolated and resistant to erosion in the landscape. The erosion-resistant soil layer in the mound is the "witness" of a sedimentary deposit that once covered the entire landscape, but was later fragmented by erosion. The forest is almost entirely located in Flobecq. It is protected as a European Natura 2000 site under the name "Rhosnes Valley".
