The old building complex located between Vaartdijk and Leopoldstraat is the site of the first Belgian car factory. It was a venture of Mr. Vincke. He also made "the Vincke", the first car of Belgium, in 1894. In 1895 he made history with the first car accident in Belgium. This occurred at the corner of Groenplaats in Antwerp.
