This castle is located on Lakebossen.
"Raepen" does not refer to the vegetable, but is a misspelling of "paepen" or monks. After all, this forest area used to belong to the Ter Duinendabdij of Bruges.
In 1800 a small Empire style castle was built there. In 1925 the castle became the neoclassical castle that it is today.
The front facade has an entrance with a balcony supported by four columns.
The park was probably laid out in a plan in 1840 . Later in the 19th century the park was modified with further landscape style elements with winding paths and ponds. The structure of the park was also changed in the 20th century.
