This is not just a boulder for decoration. It is a block from the nearby quarry, a sandstone belonging to the Tubize Formation that was deposited 530 to 537 million years ago in the Cambrian geological period, part of the Brabant Massif. The reclamation started in the area from the 19th century up to 30m deep by "Société pour l'exploitation de la carrière de Rodenem". The stones were used for cobblestones for road construction and building blocks for numerous buildings (including the church of Lembeek and the Malakoff tower).
