Tellin was once very well located on the road from Paris to Liège. From this distant era, the town has in some ways retained the look of the dynamic village it was in the 18th century. This was also due to its location on the route that the stagecoaches followed from France to Germany,
The beautiful church was built in neoclassical style by the architect Cauchet between 1829 and 1832 and is dedicated to Saint Lambert. The tower was added in 1870.
It was in 1832 that the old Causard-Slegers bell foundry started its activities.
