"We need to dare to rethink why we engage in agriculture!", says 'wildfarmer' Dries Delanote.
Inspired by internships in Bolivia and Senegal, Dries decided about twenty years ago to go against the prevailing trend of more and larger. He resolutely chose the agro-ecological model. What is special about Dries' approach is that he grows organic (edible) flowers, herbs, fruit, and vegetables according to the rhythms of the seasons, without killing living organisms. Through a weekly farmers' market at his farm, he provides fellow organic farmers with a platform to bring their products directly to consumers through the short chain.
