The concentration camp Bad Sulza was operated from October 1933 to August 1, 1937, in an old hotel in the spa town of Bad Sulza.
The concentration camp was operated and financed by the Land of Thuringia until July 1, 1936. The responsible party was the Thuringian Interior Minister, who also arranged for the commitment of prisoners. The predecessor facility was the concentration camp Nohra. The camp commandant was the police officer Carl Haubenreißer. The camp's command was occupied by the state police, while the guard personnel was provided by the SA.
