The Johann-Conrad-Schlaun Gymnasium is a secondary school in Münster. It is named after the German master builder Johann Conrad Schlaun, who lived in Münster for a long time and also died there.
In 1899, the Münster city administration decided to establish a secondary school without Latin. School operations began on April 26, 1900, in the premises of the present-day Ratsgymnasium on Syndikatsplatz. Students originally intended for the Ratsgymnasium also made up the first class of the school, which counted 56 sixth-graders. The first headmaster, starting April 1, 1904, was the educator Dr. Heinrich Hoffschulte, who led the institution until 1927. On April 1, 1904, the school moved to the Lamberti elementary school on Alten Steinweg.
