The Irle Brewery, officially Irle Friedrich Sen. GmbH & Co. KG, is a family brewery in the Siegen district of Kaan-Marienborn.
The brewing industry in Siegerland has a long brewing tradition. As early as 1618, only brewers trained by a master were allowed to brew beer. In addition, small home breweries were widespread, benefiting from the own hop cultivation recorded in the Siegen quality directory of 1691. Johannes Irle from Dahlbruch, a furrier by profession, laid the foundation for the brewery in 1693. He bequeathed a large agricultural property, parts of a forge, taverns, as well as a brewery and distillery through his son and grandson to his great-grandson Johann Daniel Irle. In 1797, he acquired the water rights of the mountain Galmerich, located between Marienborn and Bürbach, and had a pipeline built to the brewery and distillery, which supplied the demand for high-quality soft spring water for production.
