Petkum (East Frisian: Petjem) is a village in the German state of Lower Saxony. Until 1972, it was part of the Landkreis Leer, and since then it has been administratively a part of the city of Emden.
The small village, the oldest core located on a warf by the Ems, has a long history. In 2006, Petkum celebrated the 1200th anniversary of the village. The village church was built in the thirteenth century. The village is connected by a ferry to Ditzum on the other side of the river.
