Engdener Wüste/Heseper Moor is a nature reserve in the Lower Saxony municipality of Engden in the collective municipality of Schüttorf, the unified municipality of Wietmarschen, and the city of Nordhorn in the district of Grafschaft Bentheim and in the unified municipality of Emsbüren in the district of Emsland.
The nature reserve, designated as NSG WE 188, covers an area of 1,012 hectares. Of this, 915.2 hectares belong to the district of Grafschaft Bentheim and 96.8 hectares to the district of Emsland. The nature reserve is nearly identical to the EU bird protection area "Engdener Wüste" designated in 2003. A large part is also part of the FFH area "Heseper Moor, Engdener Wüste," designated in 1999 and covering 795 hectares. The area has been under nature protection since December 21, 2002. The previously designated nature reserve "Engdener Wüste" has been integrated into it since April 16, 1988. The responsible lower nature conservation authorities are the districts of Grafschaft Bentheim and Emsland.
