The house at Hauptstraße 39 is a listed historical building and is located in the pedestrian zone of the district town of Bergheim in the Rhein-Erft-Kreis.
The charming Art Nouveau house dates from the end of the 19th or the beginning of the 20th century. For the year 1911, the saddler master Wilhelm Dresen is known to be the owner. After World War I, his son Josef set up a bicycle shop in this house, a new and lucrative business at the time. In the 1920s, Bergheim and the surrounding towns experienced a heyday of cycling. Cycling clubs were founded, and a large bicycle racing track was built on the site of today's district court.
